Boiler in bedroom cupboard swelters occupants!
Hi, I've recently moved into a new 2-bedroomed house with a huge condenser boiler sited in a bedroom cupboard (well actually it FILLS the bedroom cupboard... ) Trouble is that even with heating switched off and just hot water operating, it's like a radiator in the room and makes the room unbearably hot. Surely a new boiler should be more efficient than this? Is thre a solution please... please... pretty please??

Yes, it's the boiler that's installed in the bedroom cupboard!

Ventilate the closet with a fan to the outside. A very poor install.

You're telling me! Brand new house & all 2 bedders on site are the same. The cupboard doesn't have an outside wall, just vents into a flue up to the roof so, sadly, I can't do what you suggest. I know this will be expensive, but should I consider replacing it with a combi that will be easier to site elsewhere (and I'd gain a big bedroom cupboard too!)

Just move the boiler you have to a different location. ALSO check with your local building department. There are codes that deal with fossil fueled appliances in or near the bedroom area.

Many thanks. Will check with building dept as you suggest, but nowhere else to site such a big unit in this little house - it's the size of a fridge/freezer. I've just looked again and can't see where else it could go. Only thing I can think of is that a smaller combi with no tank may fit in the downstairs loo immediately below the existing cupboard. Not a very economical solution though!
