You still haven't told us WHO is the letter from, what name appears on the letter?

Is it from a company, or from a court, or from an attorney?

Is it asking you to either confirm or deny the debt within a given time frame, or does it say anything about a plaintiff or defendant, or a date to appear for a hearing or trial?

Give us some more detail, and you will receive better answers.

Respond that you don't owe the debt, and you request proof of the debt as being valid. Anyone can try to bill anyone for anything.

The Letter Is from a Financial Group.
It states that this is a notification that the above captioned account has been turned over to them for collection.
It states that I have 30 days to receipt of this notice that I dispute this debt or any portion of it. This office assume the debt or any portion of it to be valid against me.If I contact them they (the company) will provide me with such judgement verification .
It will report it to all 3 major credit bureaus.
I am assuming this is a credit bureaus

OK, now we can help. I'm assuming the "captioned account" referenced the landlord of your former residence. So your first thing is to respond to them stating that when you moved out, you were current with your rent and you gave proper notice. Therefore you feel you do not owe anything and require an accounting of the alleged debt.
