Vaginal bumps
I have not been sexually active for some time, and I have noticed that I have some puss bumps on the left side of my vaginal lips. This just occurred the other day, it is painful when I use the bathroom. Does anyone have an idea what this is?

joly2, puss filled bumps around the vagina does not sound very healthy and sounds more like an STD. Get thee to a doctor for a check up my dear and tell that guy to wear a condom, or never see him again. And next time you have an urge, get a health cert before getting down to the nitty gritty!

I don't know how latent herpes can be. I would suggest you be checked out for sure. I don't know how you got something like that but if it were I, I would be to the next clinic I could find.

Herpes appears almost straight after infection-you would know almost a day or two afterwards-so I don't think that is the issue.
Are they itchy? Have they split open? Herpes tend to look like blisters rather than pus-filled, you may beallergic to something or have you shaved there?

Come one, xrayman, we don't shave on the 'vaginal lips' for heavens sake. I guess she knows they are puss because they would have to split to appear like that.

Okay, half the people on here refer to the vulva as a vagina. Some have difficulty explaining exactly where on their anatomy certain things are, some think that the withdrawal method of "contraception" is safe and others question if they are virgins after having penetrative sex for less than 30 seconds... so sometimes I need clarification as to EXACTLY what and WHERE people are describing the positions of their particular problems.
I'm not well versed in mind reading.
And if we really want to get technical, the labia majora are usually shaved-did she say the minora or majora were affected? She just said left side of her vaginal lips...

Sounds like herpes to me. If it has weepy pus and it hurts and burns to pee, then that's probably what it is.

Don't scare her! It could be just a cysts or your gland is swelling up. It is painful and it does come to a head of puss. I have had one right on the hair line on my va jay jay. And one behind my ear. If you leave it alone it can go away. But the more you pick at it the bigger and more painful it gets. But if it keeps coming up every so often then you may need to get it removed. The one behind my ear grew a root really deep down and it almost cut off my hearing. And any type of opening in the vagina can hurt when you go pee even if it is a yeast infection. Which isn't an std. just go to the dr. don't mess with it. Don't have sex because that can irritate it. Because more bacteria can get into it and make it fester up even more.
