My central a/c fan won't come on
I have changed the contactor on my York unit, but when I turn the A/C back on it will come on cool through the vents inside, but the fan won't come on outside and then it automatically shuts off. Any ideas, it is 85degrees in the house right now.
    Thanks

If you just replaced the contactor did the fan outside work before the contactor went out?

As far as I know everything was fine before. I just noticed it wasn't cooling well Sunday night and I cut the unit off. The volts are good, the breakers are not thrown.

Sounds like when you changed the contactor you wired the condenser fan wrong. Did you make and identify the wires before removal? You probably need to go back over the wiring you did. There should be a wiring diagram on the door to the outside unit.

Yes, I drew a schematic of the existing contactor before removing it, and removed
One wire at a time and installed in the same order.

Mare sure you have 220/240 volts going to the motor and that the motor wires are on the capacitor.
