    Update to Sore Head
    Hey All...

Just in case anyone was wondering. I did happen to go to the Dr. to have that sore spot on my head check.
I am feeling much better since I'm on pain meds. However, it was due to something called a Numular Tension headache. This kind of headache sits itself in one spot and inflames the muscle in that spot and causes the inflamed muscle to rest on a nerve. They can last up to 3 weeks and sometimes depending of the case can cause the muscle in the neck to get stiff. However, they are not serious and need to have a muscle relaxer pain killer given. Now when everyone happens to have what I had, you will probably know what it is! :)
Also, people who suffer from chronic migraine, stress, and anxiety are more prone to them.

I must have missed your first post regarding this but I am glad you posted the update. I have sore spots on the top of my head, sore to just touch but in several areas and they are most generally present when I am having a migraine. I appreciate the information you posted. When I am having a really bad mirgraine, I call them my "roll in the floor" headaches because I have to get up in the night and will get in the floor and roll the top of my head on the floor. I feel the pain but after doing it for a bit, I get a tiny bit of relief. Reading this, I think rolling my head against a hard surface such as the carpeted floor probably releases some of the areas where the muscles are inflamed and allow a little relief temporarily. Makes perfect sense but nice to see it in writing. Thank you so much for the information! :)

What I had is just one very sore spot on my upper right side of my head. It felt like a bruise and would hurt when my hair pulled in that area. You shouldn't massage them because they could make them worse... inflame the muscle even more... With a Migraine, I take maxault (sp) and that seems to work although I seem like I have a hang over the next day lol... but if you have several of these, it might be something different. I was told these 'numular tension headaches" are usually in one spot and are the size of a nickel.

Oh, well perhaps mine are just associated with the migraines and not the "numular tension headaches" but it was still interesting to read. Thanks for sharing.
