    Number sequences
    Please Help!this Is My Daughter's Homework And She Is Stuck On The Last 3 Questions. What Are The Missing Numbers From These Sequences?
    1: _ _ 8.0_ _ _ 3.6 _
    2: 107 _ _ 80 _ _ _ 44
    3: _ _ 38 _ _ _ 90

    It looks to me like each of these sequences consists of numbers with a common difference between each entry. For example: look at the second problem - the difference between 107 and 80 is 27, and you have three "steps" to go from 107 to 80, which means each number is 9 less than the one before it. Then looking at the sequence from 80 to 44 that'sa difference of 36, to be taken in 4 steps, so again it seems that each step is again 9 less than the one before it.

    For problems 1 and 3 it's impossible to answer the question as posed, but again if you assume that each sequence has numbers spaced evenly you can figure it out pretty easily. To find the size of each step just take the diference between the two numbers you are given and divide by the number of steps to go from the first to the second.
