    Gas BBQ Vs Propane
Hello - Could anyone tell me if there is a difference between a "Gas" BBQ or a "Propane" BBQ. I recently had a house build and had it plumbed with a natural gas line to the back porch for a BBQ. When I went to buy the grill no one could tell me the difference, or the correct one for my application. I don't just want something that will work. I want the right one and want to know why. Thanks in advance BBQ coinsures.

I'm thinking it's that natural gas is piped to your house in a supply line and there is a pressure regulator where the line meets the house. You basically turn it off and on like you do a faucet when you want some. The propane comes in a bottle that you need to refill and has to have it's own pressure regulator installed brtween the grill and the bottle.

I don't think you answered the OP's question.

Propane (LPG) burns much hotter than natural gas (NAT) and damage will occur to the grill if propane is used on a Natural gas grill.

Kits should be available to change gas types. Check with the manufacturer.

An orifice change and/or regualtor change are generally required to convert.
