    Protective cup.
    I am going into high school (14 yrs old) as a freshmen and never have played tackle football. I no that I am always going to where either a underarmour girdle or underarmour compression shorts but I wanted to no if I should were a cup with it. I'm going out for linebacker and center / guard just wanted your point of view on it. I don't want to get hurt. I have never ran with a cup on but I have heard they are a pain. So I don't know what to do. Help me out here.

    If you want to be truly protected the best, I would recommend also wearing a cup.

    My sons used them when they took karate--there are different sizes, if I remember. And a cup won't be as big a pain as the pain you would feel without one if you got hurt during practice or a game.

    By all means wear one. I would think that most schools would require you to wear one.
