Legal steps to Becoming a Talent Agent In Georgia
    Hello,

I'd like to know the legal difference between a Talent Agent and a Talent Manager I was told once that the agency has a legal responsibility to get jobs for the talent where as the manager does not he or she just manages...
Here is some non legal related info I found about the differences...

Traditionally, every entertainer would hire an agent. The agent identified projects and negotiated contract terms. In return the agent pocketed 10 percent of the entertainer's earnings. A few big stars also hired managers, who collected an additional 10 to 15 percent. Managers helped with matters ranging from confirming plane reservations to developing a long-range business plan.

Also I'd like to know the legal steps needed to become both a talent agent (model) AND talent manager in the state of Georgia...

    THANK YOU!

A agent does have a responibility to find jobs for their client. He should have contacts within the industry and should know all of the legal issues of contract law.

I will be very rude and blunt, if you have to ask, and don't know the difference that well, you are not nearly qualified to do the job.

Someone will expect their agent to be sending their info out, they will expect their agent to be able to pick up a phone and be able to talk with industry exectitives.

To be one in GA, you call yourself one, get a city business license, and go into business, if you don't provide proper serivices your clients sue you.
