    1,000 feet of chain link fence is to be used to construct six animal cages.

    1. Express the width of y as a function of the length of x

    2. Express the total enclosed area A of the cages as a function of x

    3. Find the dimensions that maximize the enclosed area

    Use diagrams to help you. The solution will pretty come by itself. For the maximum question, use dy/dx = 0 and solve.
