    You need an attorney, NOW!

If you are involved with CPS, you HAVE to get representation, if you can't afford it, there are options available for one to be appointed, based upon your income level.

Seriously, please get busy right now in your efforts to obtain legal representation.

Do you know of this pro-bono legal service I can consult? Also, thank you for the great answer.

Just look up in the phone book, or on line for, legal aid under your county government pages or web site.

If you have trouble finding a number, or web site, call to your county courthouse and ask someone there for information on legal aid.

    Best of luck to you!

There had to be some type of problem for CPS to take your child(ren) away. They do investigations on these cases and if they find that the statements are true... THEN and only THEN do they take your children. If they didn't find anything wrong when they investigated you they would have closed the case.

You got lucky there, berrysweetcgurl, I gave you a green dot, but should have been a RED ONE.

Although I do think that CPS sometimes takes things to far, in the case of drug use it would have been easy to prove or disprove, all it requires is a drug test, did they do one? If so why did they take the kids away if you aren't doing drugs? What, if anything did they find that would lead them to take away your child?

I'm not saying that you are doing drugs, or anything else, I'm just curious, what did they find that would lead them to think your child is not safe in your care? Is CPS required to inform you why they are removing your child, if so, what did they say?

I agree with prognur, time to get a lawyer to protect your rights and your child's. If you have been falsely accused then you have to make sure that you get your day in court to prove that these allegations are false.

    Good Luck.

I think that we are not getting the COMPLETE story from this poster... Hopefully this kid wasn't being neglected... but when you only get a limited amount of details like that you never know.
I just know in my local area that CPS does a VERY thorough job in investigating details and claims in a case like this before removing the child from the home from personal experience.
