    Do it gradually... go to a dirty blonde, then light brown, then to the shade of brown you desire...

    You will need to pre pigment the hair.
    Most brown colours give a green sort of cast on blonde hair. So purchase a red semi or temporary colour. Apply it to the blonde hair, dry it in then apply the brown on top.
