    Bowel problems
I've been having problems I think of Partially blocked intestines with pain, nausea constipation with mostly diarrhea and soft bowel difficult to get out I haven't exercised for a long time and I know that exercise helps with bowel problems also without exercise I've been extremely sleepy everyday for the past two days I have had hard stool come out but still with some kind of difficulty and today I started exercising again and I had diarrhea again and I thought with exercising today I would have more energy but I seem more tired I have had a CT Scan and everything was okay but the GI doctor still wants to do a colonoscopy what would she be looking for on the colonoscopy since the CT Scan and also all my blood tests are normal if you can think of anything that I should be concerned about that will show up on the colonoscopy please let me know I am really scarred about going through the colonoscopy about being able to feel pressure or what ever during it since I won't be fully put to sleep like I want to be.

    Hello jrybock,

Please try no to worry, this is a straight foreword procedure that is just a precautionary measure. There is no pain and it only lasts for a short time, in fact it's over so quickly that you will be wondering what all the fuss was about.

Reading your post makes me wonder what your diet is like. Do you eat a balanced diet with plenty of fibre? Lots of fluid helps if you have problems with constipation.

The fact that you also have diarrhoea suggest that you might have an irritable bowel which when diagnosed is easily treated .

It could simply be that maybe you've been a bit stressed about something lately and it's upsetting your system a little bit, please try not to worry, a very good thing for settling the tummy and sorting out the constipation, is the liquid called Gavisgon it's meant for acid indigestion ,heartburn etc but I take it for acid reflux and the same problems you have now, the anniseed flavour is the best I find, if you take 2 big spoonfuls last thing at night it does the trick. The supermarkets do their own brand which is much cheaper, the liquid will coat your stomach and intestinal track and ease the acidity, use through the day time if needed as well.

I hope this has helped you,

    Takecare stop worrying

    Bye for now

Are you losing or gaining weight? Have they done an occult blood test on your... um, stool. A colonoscopy is pretty standard, nothing to be worried about, they are looking for anything out of the ordinary (a "fishing expedition" ).

Talking to your normal doctor about getting a exercise and diet plan going. A balanced diet would really help reduce your stress and make you feel healthier, whatever your diagnosis is.
