    Elimination with Multiplication
    Elimination with Multiplicationhelp pleaseeeee! :confused:


    1. -3x+ 2y = 10
    -2x - y = -1



    2. 2x + 5y = 13
    4x - 3y = -13

    3. 5x +3y =4
    -4x+ 5y = -18

    4. 1/3x - y = -1
    1/5x - 2/5y = -1

    5. 3x-5y =8
    4x-7y = 10

    6. x- 0.5y = 1
    0.4x + y = -2

    7. x+ 8y = 3
    4x - 2y +7

    8. 4x - y = 4
    x+ 2y = 3

    9. 3y - 8x = 9
    y - x =2

    10. X + 4y = 30
    2x - y = -6

    11. 3x - 2y = 0
    4x + 4y = 5

    12. 9x - 3y = -9
    -8x + 2y = 4

    13. 2x - 7y= 9
    -3x + 4y = 6

    14. 2x- 6y = -16
    5x+ 7y = -18

    15. 6x - 3y = -9
    -8x + 2y = 4

    I will do the first one using elimination. Then you try some and see how it goes. Okey-doke?

    #1:





    The thing to do is look at it and see what you can multiply one line by so that when you add them a variable is elimination. That's why it's called the elimination method.

    Multiply the bottom row by 2. That way you'll have -2y in the second row and 2y in the first. So, when you add them you get 0.





    Add them and get:





    Now, you can sub that in to get your y.
