Re-applying ITIN application for H4
Hi,
I filed my taxes through H&R block in April along with my wife's ITIN application manually through paper not e-filing.I got a rejection letter from Dept. of Treasury stating that the reason for rejection is that they do not authorize the person who filed ITIN application as acceptance agent.
Now my tax refund is on hold till I get my wife's ITIN number.Though making a number of calls H&R is not assisting me in any way from past one month.
In this regards can I file my ITIN application by myself with w-7 form with valid notarized passport & mail to IRS.
Thanks & regards

Call IRS and find out. Yes, you may be able to send W7 yourself.
Which tax return form did you file? Did you file joint return as residents?

I called IRS they asked me to send the application with passport copy notarized... I just want to confirm whether I can file by myself once done through an agent.
We filed the joint return as residents for my refund.

Mail it yourself. It is obvious that the H&R Block person who worked with you thought he was an acceptance agent when in fact he was NOT.

Arshia:
This is NOT rocket science.
Sign it where it says "signature of applicant", put your phone number on it, and mail it.

Sorry, how can someone give you copy of W7 completed for a client? It has personal information.
Yes, your comment is welcome.
