Bleeding gums can be caused by many things. A hard brush, not enough flossing, vitamin deficiencies and so on.

Floss your teeth twice a day. Take a multivitamin for now and see a dentist soon.

Simone is right. It sounds like you have gingivitis. Bleeding gums can lead to many health problems including heart attack and stroke. Continue brushing twice a day, use a soft or ultra soft brush and use something to clean between your teeth once a day. You can use floss, "softpicks", stimudents or a rubber tip to clean between your teeth. You can also use a rinse such as Listerine or Crest Pro Health.

Make an appointment to see your dental hygienist for a thorough cleaning. If after 10 days post cleaning your gums are still bleeding you should see your physician and have your blood sugar levels checked.
