I don't care for my name because I have rejected the Catholic religion of my father, an Irishman, and Mary is considered a Catholic name where I came from.
Perhaps you'd do better to stop thinking of it as a Catholic name. They don't have dibs on it, no matter what they say. Catholic isn't a race or nationality. Even if you want to relate it to the Virgin Mary, Catholics don't have dibs on her either! And she was Jewish anyway.

Miriam was the sister of Moses. So now you can start thinking of yourself as the sister of the man who freed the Hebrews. :-)

As for me, I am of course King Arthur's half sister. :-)

(Sorry, I guard my real name on the internet with my life.)

Mine's Hamze. Just plain good 'ol Hamze(first name, anyway). It's Somali for "The lion"(I'm pretty sure it is, anyway.) I'm kind of like a lion in some ways, hehe. We both love food. We both are pretty big and laidback(I know for a fact lions aren't typically small). Key difference is, he's the king of the jungle and I'm the king of my refrigerator. :D

I love my name, just like I love two-syllable names. "Hamze" is easy to remember and pronounce. So easy, people call me "Hamza"(which would be the Arabic translation, I think). There's another Hamza in my math class. My Arabic tutor's name is Hamza. :D
