ECMs need to be an exact part no. match. The replacement ECM is causing a direct short.

Txgreasemonkey, I understand ECM's need to match. Let me clarify situation. I converted the car 2 multi-port fuel injection from dual. Car was working fine until last week. Battery went bad and son replaced it. Then he was on way to work and had to stop fast, that's when car shut down and wouldn't start. Checked it out and found ECU fuse blown. Replace fuse and try, blew again. Just put old ECM on to test. Car started, but won't run with dual ECM. That's where I am at. Can you help. Before had Question and you were a big help. Thanks.:)

. Perform K-Test on "new" ECM.

. Check for codes, if any.

My gut is that there's a short in the ECM. If there is, the K-Test should indicate that the ECM is bad.
