No period -- Can I still get pregnant?
I am going on 4 months and NO period... [I already went to the Dr's and she said that it's because of high levels of prolactin and now I'm waiting for my appt. w/ the Endocrinologist]

My question is this: even though I haven't been menstruating, can I still get pregnant? Am I ovulating? [at times I think I am but then wouldn't I get my period at SOME point?]

Anyone else go through something similar? ANY stories/advice/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Odds are that you aren't ovulating if your prolactin levels are high... this is why breastfeeding offers some protection from pregnancy as prolactin is a hormone associated with breastmilk production.
However, since ovulation occurs before a period in your cycle, you can get pregnant without a period in some instances... this is also why breastfeeding mothers sometimes find themselves pregnant without having had a return to their periods.
It certainly doesn't hurt to enjoy yourself but of course you will have to wait and see what results you get from your further testing. There are several options for treating high prolactin levels... the cause of your's being elevated, and there are several possibilities, will determine the best course of action. Good luck!

    Thanks for your info!

Would you know what types of options there would be for treating high prolactin levels? And when my period would most likely return? [i mean, how soon after being treated]

This all depends on the cause of the high prolactin levels. High prolactin levels can be caused by a number of things, including but not limited to adrenal insufficiency, anorexia, kidney disorders, tubal pregnancy, etc.

Could be a number of causes... thyroid issues, other pituitary issues... such as a tumor, some meds, PCOS, etc.. PCOS is fairly common... any issues with weight, facial hair... diabetes? What the cause is will determine what they will do... could be various medications, sometimes herbal supplements help, possible surgery if need be. All of this will also effect the return of your period. Some situations will likely allow it to return fairly soon afterwards, herbal supplements, for example, may take a few months.
