    Probation Problem
Myself and the guy I am involved with were both convicted in the same drug related case. He just went to prison and I am going to be on probation. I went to my pre-sentencing investigation and told the PO that I was in a relationship with him. What I didn't tell her was that we got married right before he left for prison. If I tell my PO about the marriage after I am sentenced or before will I get in huge trouble - i.e. receive a probation violation??

Depends on what he pled down his offense to and what other past charges he had against him. I used to be a probation officer and no you shouldn't be violated, depends on the officer some are toooooo badge happy, but it is always better to be honest with them from the start

    Hello Blue:

If you are GOING to be on probation, then you AREN'T on probation now and you don't NOW have any restrictions or probation conditions you are required to live under.

I suspect that you have some restrictions placed upon you by the court, but I'll bet not getting married isn't one of them.

Therefore, since you have no restrictions - you have NO restrictions. And since you have no restrictions, you did nothing wrong - except NOT tell your PO that you were married. I would rectify that immediately!! Get on the phone TODAY.

Because, if you're married, when he gets out you can live together with both of you being felons. But, if you're NOT married, they can keep you APART - and they WILL.
