Son moved out from leased property prior to term
My son decided to go to college in a town away from home. I signed the lease agreement for him. 6 months. I also paid the rent. He decided against this college after attending for 3 months, 3 months into the lease. I gave notice to the manager, paid for the forth month, paid damages etc. Also did not receive any deposit back.
The apartment manager made no attempt to collect the other two months. The amount due has evidently been sent to RP Management who has sent the bill to NCO Financial Systems, Inc. I am in the process of getting more documentation from them. They say "you signed the lease, you are responsible".
I do not know if the manager made an attempt to find a renter.
My question: This was a 6 month lease, dated Spet 7, 2007 to March 31, 2007. A bit of a typo there. Does this make the lease less valid. Additionally - if this were a 6 month lease, wouldn't it end on March 6 (2008) not March 31?
    Thanks.

No the typo does not void the lease. And it is not uncommom for leases to go to calender dates, if you had objected to that date you should not have signed the lease.

But also it depends on where you are at, for example in Florida there is no obligation at all to find another renter.

But yes if they did ot get another renter you are obligated to pay the other two months.

They have a obligation to try and rent, but if they did not find one, they merely had to advertise
