    Fan Override for furnace missing
Hello, I recently had a humidifier installed which attaches to the furnace and trickles water across a filter only when the fan runs. Now that winter is over, I still would like the humidifier to do its thing but our thermostat didn't have a fan override. I bought a programmable thermostat and removed the old one and there are only 2 wires. My dilemma is how do I wire it to get the fan to switch on without the gas turning on as well since I won't need heat in the summer. The circuit board on the furnace is a CES0110018-00 and the programmable thermostat is a Noma 5+1+1.. I was hoping to have the humidity control in the programmer to run the fan when humidity level gets dry.

    I would appreciate any insight.

    Thanks

You only need humidity in the winter.

Next most if not all humidifiers will not work without the heat from the furnace forcing/evaporating water from the pad.

    Overall not a good idea.

    Not from Alberta are you..

Typically I'd agree, I love when I travel to the east with all that humidity over there. But it gets very dry here during the summer months.

Since most furnace units need heat to perform I then suggest that you buy a steamer style humidfier. Electric heats the water and the furnace blows the steam into the air OR you can get a misting type. They are not real popular but a Google search shouls turn something up for you.

Where I live it is necessary to get rid of the humidity in the spring.summer and fall.

Honeywell RTH7400 program schedule override [ 1 Answers ]

I am unable to make a temporary adjustment to the temperature setting by pushing the up or down arrow. Is this because I connected the wires incorrectly? I only had two wires from the old Honeywell T87f28373 - one at 6 O'clock and the other at 8 O'clock.
