Child Abandonment
 I have waited for 3 years for the Department of Revenue (Orange County) to serve and establish a child support amount for my kids, but they have dropped the ball. Like they are working for him. How can I file for a child abandonment against him?

Ok, first as I'm sure you will hear many times you can't file child abandonment on him. This is because he did not leave the children uncared for such as at a bus stop. You can go to family court to have support set up. If you already have an order for support you need to go back to family court and ask the judge to hold him in contempt for not paying. (Most likely he will get a warning first) So my first question to you before I can help anymore is... Is there a support order in place?

It's OK all you have to do is reply to the message at the bottom of the page. Anyway, until there is a court order for support there really isn't much you can do. Do you have a lawyer? I know they are expensive but they can push paper through faster sometimes. Another question is, is he on the birth certificates? So that paternity isn't a question is it just the matter of support? I am really surprised that it is taking that long if it is just a matter of a court date to establish support. What you can try (and I know it can be a hastle) is to contact your county court house and get the child support division or the clerk either of them will know where to go from there, and ask them if there is something else you can do to get a court date. The other question is do you have his current address? That could be the problem is that they are looking at the wrong house.

NO, I do not have a lawyer. I was thinking about getting one though. Paternity is already established as well. The reason why it is taking so long I feel is because for at least a year they had me filling out the same paperwork over and over. Then when I called to inquire about it they either misplaced it... I "supposely" didn't fill out everything, or plainly it was time to fill it out one more time because who's know information may have changed in 3 or 4 months. It seemed like they were buying time. I called yesterday to the governor's office and spoke with an aide and she was going to make a note and pass on it to the governor... but she didn't get any information. So she shot me a quick LIE!! I don't have it (I did but I can't find it now) address. I don't know it is very depressing.

If you can get one a lawyer is going to be your best bet. He/She will make sure you have all the papers filled out and make sure they are filed in the right place as well (and court offices tend not to give them the run around as much). Once you have a court date you won't really need a laywer anymore but at this point I think its what you need to get the ball rolling again.
