There are good methods for determining this, here is a good link describing it generally:

And here's a good program to try:

Ovulation can occur at any time regardless of your cycle. There is a regular schedule for most but some women have no set schedule. This coming from a woman who got pregnant at the end of her cycle when the family planning doc said was least likely to result in a pregnancy! (No more rhythm method here, we now use condoms.)

I have spoken to my GP & he said that it is around 12 - 14 days after the first day of your period. It seems to be about right for because I feel the cramps around that time.

Ovulation is a very tricky subject at times. Most say that it is 12-14 days after the first day of your period. However, if your periods are irregular, this may not be the case. I too am having difficulty with this. I mainly am relying on cf and ovulation cramps to figure out when mine is. However, I may soon try a opk to help out. Good luck!

    Hi,
Ovulation occurs 14 days BEFORE the FIRST day of your NEXT period. That's why it is so hard to tell because you need to be able to predict what the first day of your next period will be. With a lot of women this can vary by days. I hope this helps.

Ovulation can happen anywhere from ten to sixteen days before your period occures. I personally ovulate at ten and it will very from woman to woman. The best way to tell is to take your temp just after you wake up and keep track of it. They call it a bbt (basal body temp). Your temp will spike during ovulation and drop just after unless there is conception. The site I gave above helps you track your cycle based on your bbt and will help you to know when you ovulate. Every woman is different and there is no set rules to ovulation. You body will give you clues you just have to know what to look for. Hope this helps

Yes, Myth is correct. Ovulation may happen at any time more than 10 days but less than 16 before your next period. And this is regardless of your cycle.

Someone talked about Fertility Friend. I completely love this site so far. I got on not to get pregnant or prevent pregnancy but to monitor my body. I really like the site and they have a course on charting BBT. I have learned SO MUCH. I definitely recommend trying it out.
