    Success with grant applications?
I am wondering if anyone has had any success with obtaining a grant from the Government. I believe that when you appy to one of the "FREE GRANTS" that the only people who actually see any money are the outfits selling you the info on obtaining a grant. I have been sucked in myself only to have received a few CD ROMs with all kinds of endowment names and addresses to write to for more information. I do not believe that the average "joe" can get any type of grant except for possible, a grant for artistic work through the NEA. Anyone??

Some without our church group gets grants to operate centers for homeless, for soup kitchens and more. I have a good friend who is a grant writer ( very well paid) who research companies pay him to write their grants for aids research, for kidney disease research and more.

I know many who have gotten grants from city for funds to help buy their home.

So a lot depends on what type of grants, you have to apply to the government or private agency doing the grants, and it is often very competitive, they may get in some cases on research money three or four times as many requests as there is money
