    Custody of my son
    My son will be 3 on may 27th 2008 he has been living with me since he was 3 months old and his mother hasn't done anything for him since he was born I got him in daycare which he has been in for over a year and a half and she couldn't even tell you the daycare where he goes at or the doctor he goes to she hasn't seen him or call since July 2007 the problem is I want full custody of my son the lawyer said that shouldn't be a problem but I don't have her address because she move or a number to call her at because her phone has been turn off over 9 months ago I don't even know where she works at so no paper work can be serve to her I wanted to know if there is another way to take this to court besides going through a lawyer because I would spend $1500 for him to do the case but we don't know here where abouts

    I don't believe so. You have to make a good faith effort to contact her. Which means newspaper ads and the like. It will ultimately take a lawyer to accomplish sole custody in her absence.
