Who does a County Prosecutor answer to?
I'm have a serious issue with the County Prosecutor's Office where I live.
While the details of my problems could take hours to read and digest, I would be happy to share them with anyone who may feel that more details will allow you to provide a better answer.
My basic question is, if there seems to be a problem with the County Prosecutor refusing to accept legitimate criminal cases based upon opinion, without any regard to the statute and it's application to the crime reported, who would an individual complain to?
Who is the "Boss" of a County Prosecutor?
I live in Nebraska.

Yes, locally they really don't have a boss, but as noted if they are in violation of state law, the state attorney general would be the one to contract

A County Prosecutor or , what they call here in NY , a District Atty , answers to the State Atty General's office. A County Prosecutor has the choice of prosecuting a case based on the legal merits. If opinion is the only "cause", it is quite unlikely that the CP would spend time and money on it. There must be evidence more than just "personal" opinion. If you have specifics of a possible crime, it would be in your best interst to provide as much "fact" as possible. CPs or DAs are only allowed to start an investigation if and when enough "probable cause" is available.
For example, if you were to go to the DAs office and tell someone that your next door neighbor is dealing drugs, they probably won't act just on that premise. If you can provide more fact and evidence that illegal activity if possible going on, then they would alert local law enforcement and then go from there.
Have you consulted with you own atty concerning this matter? That would be in your best interest also. Good Luck.
