    Chemical peels?
    Do chemical peels remove hyperpigmentation? They sound so dangerous, are there any risks? Anyone who knows anything about this, please help!!

    Chemical peels increase the rate of skin cell turnover which will improve the effectiveness of topically applied creams and serums that help slow down the production of melanin.
    So therefore Chemical Peels are great for hyperpigmentation.
    You need to find out which chemical peel would be right for you. For an example, sensitive skin types should opt for a lactic peel, oily/acne prone skin for a salicylic acid and glycolic acid for normal skin.
    But for hyperpigmentation, gylcolic or lactic acid is much better than salicylic acid.
    Try and start of with a low percentage. Not too high to avoid disasters. And make sure you follow the instructions accurately.
    It's best to get it done at a salon, etc but if you can't, then do it at home. :)
    Also make sure you use a sunscreen!
