    Health for dogs
My dog has been walking around like he has to go to the bathroom, but doesn't all the time. He hasn't been eating the past two days and I have noticed a small amount of blood in his stool. He HATES the car, so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you mean he is straining to go but doesn't. The fact that you saw blood in his stool could mean he swallowed something he shouldn-t have like a chicken bone or a piece he broke off a toy? He could have a bowel obstruction which can be fatal. Don't worry whether he likes the car. He can hate you for driving him to the vet after you save his life, OK? Do you have a crate you could put him in and go? The vet can do an enema to clear his bowel He could also have a kidney stone or a bladder infection causing straining. Also helps if you can get someone else to drive his crate over there then you follow after and appear to rescue him so he doesn't get mad at you.

What ever you do, don't give him a laxative. Get him to the vet even if you have to walk.

I agree with all of the above, please get him to the vet asap.

My dog once swallowed a leather work glove, we didn't know it at the time. He strained and strained and finally a glove finger came out, filled with feces and blood. We immediately went to the vet, if we hadn't he probably wouldn't be with us today. He will be 13 years old next week. Go to the vet asap.

    Good Luck.
