Have 150-watt halogen motion detector mounted on the front of the garage.
Next to the garage [ same circuit ] is the kitchen with a 6-foot bank of fluorescent lighting. No switch was provided for the fluorescents so I used a plug in “touch and glow” plug in switch. Touch the case of the fluorescents on any metal edge and the lights go on …. Touch again anywhere and the lights go off. Works fine all day long until the motion detector comes on after dark, then the fluorescents go on and off in conjunction with the motion light. Tried a surge suppressor in the fluorescent circuit, to NO AVAIL.
Need some advice on noise suppression on the line either the motion of the fluorescent.
”Touch and Glow” did not respond to any of my e-mail, VERY HELPFUL!!

Those touch sensor are very sensitive to changes in the line voltage. Just little fluctuations will cause them to flip. I run into it all the time and theere isn't much of a cure other than you need to get the lights plugged into a different circuit.

Does not address the QUESTION, can not change or add circuits, need to filter line!
Circuit common to garage wall & kitchen wall can not add circuit from across the house !

You could try these RDI/EMI filters on both devices.

I picked ones with wire leads.

What makes you think it's line noise? Touch circuitry works on ground fault technology. Have you got a grounding issue?

Don't think I have a grounding issue...
There are only two devices on the same circuit, Halogen is hardwired [ 3 wire ] and the touch device is a PLUG IN [ to an empty three pronged grounded receptacle [ leviton ] the touch device is a box with only two pronges and no provision to add a third [ ground ]
Wire to the case. It is plugged into a three prong receptacle with a large and small spade that is in the corresponding large and small socket of the leviton. Can you see an area that may be a grounding problem?

Does not advise of FALSE DEACTIVATION. Have no FALSE ACTIVATIONS.

Yep, and it's probably a lot more reliable as well. I used that particular picture because that picture showed it doesn't need an outlet box.
