Protecting one from future cc debt
When I pay off credit card debt and all the cards are cut up, accounts closed how can I protect myself legally from my husband doing this again without a divorce? I have another year for 10 yrs of marriage and think alimony would be more but don't want to see any unsecured debt before this. Our marriage was just a business agreement.

This is my second time marrying my husband. The first time around was about 23 years with 3 children and we divorced over finances etc. We were divorced 2 years and I bought a house and he came over to help put new basement windows in. The church we attended but not now pressured us to remarry. So we thought why not and just make a little money in fixing up the house. So we became room mates but he has credit card issues. We are friends but would have not remarried had the church stayed out of our affairs. So now I want to sell the house and just not get stuck with debt from him. So how do you protect yourself legally while still married in a community property state?

Divorce and separate, you are not living a marriage, and the reason you got married is silly at best.

I have also often "married" people ** no real marriage license just marriage in God's eyes, not the governments.
