    Transfer on Death Deed.
    Where can I get a Wisconsin Transfer on Death Deed?

    If a person died and you need to transfer the property out of their name to your name ( or someone's name) you have to go to probate court and have the judge there do it.

    This is not available in Wisconsin. Sorry. It is available in 8 states but Wis is not one of them.

    Transfer on Death Deed was available in Wisconsin since 2006

    transferred. Only the green paper form (PE-500) may
    be used at this time.
    2. A certified copy of the death certificate (for
    verification only).
    3. A copy of the document that shows the Transfer
    Death interest.
    4. The recording fee is $25.00. Your check for $25.00
    should be made payable to, ”Register of Deeds”.

    Thanks for your help Fr_Chuck. I don't know if I will do the Transfer on Death Deed or put my home and property in a trust. I have been looking at doing this myself but may take your advise and see an attorney. I bought the Quicken WillMaker Plus in order to form a Revokable Trust but then found out about the Transfer on Death Deed. I take it you don't agree with people doing this without an attorney.

    you will see I go for a lot of things without an attorney, transfer of property is not one of them, too much value at risk, and one thing not done right, all of a sudden 10 years down the road, you can't sell till you go back and get this or that cleared.

    Esp from a person who passed away. I have done my own quitclaim deeds and contract for deeds for years ( but I had an attorney do the first ones and basically copy the material for future sales.

    But I did one without one in a state I had never did one, it cost me big time. So I find paying a few 100 dollars is worth the trouble and helps you sleep better.

    I 'm sorry Larry, I thought it was only the 8 states. I'll have to relook up this. I know that Transfer on Death Deed are very good to do then the property does not have to go through an expensive probate action.
