Can you say "Munchausen's by internet?"

Looks to me like everyone here has fallen for another "little" personality. You people are so gullible!

That was not fair! Do you not think we all took that into consideration? We are here to HELP! That's what this is called! Ask Me HELP desk! We are NOT gullible, but responsible people that will give the benefit of the doubt unless we find out otherwise!

Whether this is a true story isn't the issue here really. Either way this person needs some help. Rape and abuse are very serious issues, as well as having a sick mind to lie about such an issue.

Yes, cakelady has hit on something that several of us at expert or moderator level has discussed. I have even PM the original poster asking them aboiut this.

While all things can be true, but her parents are killed, ( OP deleted that post before anyone could read it) he is raped and has serious injuries but the injuries did not seem to meet the original injury. And now there is sexual absue by someone from their school.

I am not saying all of this is not possible but there were other issues that did make many of us also believe this was not a real post but one by some teen having fun at our expense.

And you are not at all helpful, why are you here?

We have all suspected that this story might not be true, but until our suspicions are proven we will assume it is true and offer the help and support that we are here for.

Yes it is an outrageous story, yes we've all thought that the OP is making it up, but what if she's not? Do you really want to take the chance that this girl is lying, because if she isn't (which is a possibility) then she needs very real help, and if she is lying she also needs help. If it is proven that this is all a lie then I will unleash my wrath, but until then we all have to assume that this is true.

Unless you are psychic and know something we don't then you have no right to jump to conclusions without facts.

I can't believe you people. What kind of walking human being would make fun of a person who had those horrible things done to her. You all should be ashamed of yourself. Even if this is not true the girl is probably doing this so she can have some attention. What person doesn't want to have friends? You all probably don't. I can't believe that someone would act like this on an advice site. Even if its not true mabye she was just trying to ask questions but cover them up...
Please don't make fun of her its not nice, and I don't like it.

Yea, it is horrible that anyone would make fun of anyone like that. But I think we have to take into consideration that this is a website and anyone can write whatever they like on it regardless of if it's a lie or not. I apologise if the person who wrote this is a real person who actually went through such a tramatic event but the fact that there are many liars on the internet willing to play on your emotions is an unavoidable fact. But, on a website such as this perhaps we should keep the doubts to ourselves in the case that the writer may be telling the truth?

As for the person who posted this... you are a girl 100%. Second not all guys are bad just certain ones... it's learning who to trust and who not to that is very troublesome. It sounds like you love your brother a lot and like he is your primary caregiver, have you talked to him about being so afraid and about being tormented at school? Or maybe even talk to one of your teachers or the school nurse if you have one, they're usually up for talking about problems that you are having and can get rid of the boys hassling you when you are at school.
I'm kind of curious... you won't say where specificallly you are but can you give us a country name? We can't track you that way and it would be a lot easier to give you advice if we knew what type environment you are in. Just an idea... you don't have to answer.
Your going through a troublesome time right now and it's okay to be scared, being on the verge of womanhood probably is making it even harder.. but you can make it. If your worried about not being like everyone else, you are.

Thank you and you are very right. I just hope they are lying because the things that happened to this young LADY (AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ONE) is terrible. I hope that everyone realizes how serious this is. On the other hand I hope they are not lying because I don't like to be lied to.

If you are including me in the "you people" category, then re-read my post.

My motto on this site is to believe the OP until it's proven that the OP is not being truthful, and I have gotten burned a few times, badly, I hope not this time. On the other hand, there are a few inconsistences in her posts and a few red flags that have some of us questioning whether it's real.

I will continue to give her advice based on the information she has provided. If this story is true then she deserves all the support she can get. She needs to get therapy to deal with everything she's been through. Her life has already been traumatized so much at her very young age, in order for her to lead a normal healthy life she needs to get help from a professional, there's only so much we can do on this site, counselling isn't one of them.

I hope that she is willing to tell us more so that we can give better advice. OP, if we knew the country you lived in we could give you a list of places that you could go to get the help you need. It would also help us to better understand you. We cannot track you if you give us the name of the country you live in, we're not asking for the town or your address or anything, just the country so that we can find some resources for you to get help.

Actually I have been in contract with the Original poster in private.
I have left all posts, original answers, and the ones wondering about the question.

In their defense, if this post is from Africa, many things happen there much different in life than we are used to in US, Candad and Europe.
So while this has to be the sadest post I have read if all true, since it is in the possible to be true based on its location and governmet I have left the post and all of the thoughts about it also.

"YIKES" looks like I am suppose to be ending with that word, "YIKES"

Exactly my first thoughts were they could be from another country because even for 12 their english is not all that good. I realize too that if it is a prankster that they very well would likely purposely do the poor writing but I figured the benefit of the doubt as others.
I do not think we answered in gullible mode but in an 'if this IS true' then...

Okay, I give up, I have no idea why you asked if anyone was getting private messages and why you responded to me the way you did. Am I missing something or are you? All I did was respond to your question, my bad.

As for the word Yikes, it is a word used to express surprise.

Fr_Chuck, I agree, if she lives in Africa then things are very different there than they are anywhere else. It's to bad that she didn't inform us from the beginning where she was from, it might have helped us help her better.

If her story is true then I wish her all the best and hope she gets the help she so obviously needs and deserves, no one should have to live in fear for the rest of their life because of things that were out of their control.
