It usually takes 28 days for a refund.. it sometimes takes much longer for an amended return.

Go to this website and you can check on your refund.

28 days is optimistic; I usually tell my clients AT LEAST six weeks and maybe as long as three months.

Also, the refund website you linked is for normal tax returns, NOT for amended returns.

Is there a different web site for amended returns? This is the only one I know about and it has always worked for any type of refund. If there is a different one please share.

    Thanks

To be truthful, I have not tried to access it for an amendment in about six years, so it may have been updated to allow taxpayers to check on their amended returns.

I know of NO way to access amended return results online.

Thanks I appreciate your answer. I will check with someone at IRS and see if I can find out. It would be nice to know because I have been sending my employees there to check on their tax refunds. HR needs to have it right.

    Thanks
