    Replacing main water line
    I'm new here I need to replace all of my main water lines in my mobile home what kind of pipe and pressure size pipe should I get . Is 200 psi PVC good or do I need something more.IS there one type of pipe for hot and cold water , we have galv. Pipe now we want to go with the platic pipping we do not want copper or galv, thank you for any help you can give me Susan:confused:

    The PVC should be fine but for a retro fit I'd suugest you consider PEX. It is much easier to install because of its flexibilty. You do need a few tools but they can be rented. PEX Products - FAQ

    Thank you for the in formation. IS there code that I would have to follow? Or is it just a standard thing when using the PEX tubing

    I am pretty sure you have building codes in your area but call the city or county office to check. Once you get to the building inspector just ask if a permit is needed for what you are doing. If there is a permit then there is code and he will share it with you. Code refers to laws regarding what can and can not be done when building and remodeling. There are installation rules to follow when installing PEX or PVC, more along the lines of proper procedure to put the stuff together.
