i obtained forms, myself, at the u.s. consulate in china...... = this is a notarized copy of your passport.
i signed forms at the chinese official office... = this is marriage license.
and when i returned to this country i was taken to a lawyer's office where i signed forms, i believe confirming marriage.... = this is I-130 Petition for alien relative.
Your problem is you're married by Chinese law, and you go half way to recognition of your marriage from abroad. If I-130 is approved, it means your marriage is recognized by US law as well.
What you should do is..
1. File for annulment.. you can do it in US.
2. Send a letter to USCIS stating that you wish to withdraw your application, indicate your receipt number and case number. If you don't know what they are.. contact your lawyer.
Don't mention anything about the deal you made with the guy... you might end up in federal prison plus a huge fine.
My advice: don't sign any paper without reading it first.
Good luck..
