    L1 Visa - Contract Work
    Hi

    I currenlty have an L1 visa and I am in the process of applying for my green card, can I do contract work and file taxes under a 1099?

    Most federal government offices share database, and you should not found working for company other than your sponsor while you are still on L-1, you're not LPR yet. It's best to wait until you receive your green card.
