    Lease to own
We are currently in a lease to own home. We are locked into a buying price which has fallen by about $80,000 dollars in 8 mo. They were supposed to keep our lease payments about the same as the rent we were paying. It almost doubled. We need to get out of this lease. We are stretched as far as we possibly can stretch. Any ideas? Please help!

If you are in a lease, they can't just change the price you are paying??
A lease would be a set price you agreed to when you first signed the lease.

So go back and ask to see if the price of the house can be changed due to change in value.

A lease is a contract and the terms can be changed only with the consent of both parties - are you positive it locks in a monthly payment?

If your payments have doubled in violation of the lease/contract you can get out as they have already broken the contract.

Re-read your lease/buy agreement and see if there is any clause about raising the monthly rental. If there is no clause contained in the original paperwork, you can give the landlord/owner a 30 day notice to vacate. They would not be able to take you to court to recoup any monies from you since they broke the lease. Do you have anything in writing from these people saying that the monthly rate had gone up and by how much and effective when? Keep that as it will come in handy in court if they take you to court for breaking the contract.
