After all the medicine and following all directions my hepatitis is still here.My doctor said I can't have "the treatment" again and to just try to maintain my health(Duh)and keep an eye on my liver which I should get a ultrasound on a regular basis.Okay... is that it? I know I already have a compromised liver from alcohol(in recovery) I feel deflated,how am I suppose to live with this? Are there other real options? Metally its taken its toll and I feel dirty,I know I am contagious via blood/sex but it's a deeper dirty feeling as if I should be ashamed.I feel I should not have to explain how I got it should not matter but I find myself doing it as if to say its not really my fault,some people ask as if to judge me,Doctors ask and that's fine,I need to tell my dentist and anyone else who could be at risk I guess what I really want to know is this , has anyone had similar experience with the hepatitis C meds not working.

Are you off all medications now?
There are alternative meds for hepatitus and I can get you a list but I have to look up which ones have side effects and what ones have to be used in combination with others. Lysine is one I remember as being good and no side effects.
I can look them up if you are interested. You might want to check with an alternative doctor too.
