I cannot get in touch with my lawyer
I hired my lawyer to sue the auto insurance company, and fix my driver's license situation. We made contract on April 2, I haven't heard from him since then. I paid him $2500. I understand it takes time, but he doesn't answer the phone nor reply my emails. Is that normal?

Depends on the case, what type of law suit, whose insurance company your own or someone else's. ** I had one auto law suit take 8 years to finally settle once. What type of drivers license situation ?

Unfortunately, yes, this is the norm in my area. You don't know what's going on behind the scenes, how much time is being spent on your behalf.

    Hello K:

Most lawyers I know have very poor office skills. They don't return phone calls. Often times they do it because they think they're saving your money, cause they charge you every time they talk to you on the phone.

Because these things bother ME, I always discuss the return of phone calls as part of my hiring process. If he doesn't promise to return every phone call and email promptly, he doesn't get hired.

    Thank you for your answer,

My auto Insurance company cancelled my policy mysteriously and collected my payments after the cancelation. Same time my drivers license has been suspended because of non having insurance. I'm suing them to get my money back, and the lawyer is supposed to fix the driver's license situation.

Sounds like a mistake by your insurance company that is beyond explanation - that's terrible!

I would think your Attorney has a bit of work to do sort of behind the scenes, gathering info, talking to the insurance company, talking to DMV, trying to coordinate something.

Does the Attorney have a secretary or paralegal? I prefer to talk to my Attorney's paralegal because she knows what's going on and if he picks up the phone then he has to ask her and relay to me what she said... they all get busy and the details of every case go slipping past them.
