    Complicated vs. Simple person.
What exactly is a complicated person? I was told that I can be a complicated person in terms of relationships. I mean I like Ruth's Chris, Atlanta Bread Co/Panera Bread, Fresh2Order, but I don't like dining at McDonald's or Wendy's. That is just me... does that mean I am a hard person to please? I like Chick-Fil-A! I like 4 star hotels but I feel uncomfortable at a Motel 8... I just think I have certain standards, but does that make me complicated? Oh, and I also like attention from men... ( maybe too much). Anyway, I just want to know examples of a simple and complicated personality. Thanks

    Hello Am:

Nahhhh. I like the good things too. That doesn't make me complicated. It just makes me a snob. But, I'm a simple snob.

I can tell from your picture, that you're a VERY complicated girl. But, that's only because you're a girl. They're ALL complicated. Us men are really pretty simple folk.

WHAT? You cannot look at a picture and make a blanket statement like that. That is highly offensive. I aske da simple question to define the to and you give me this buffoonery. Secondly, how are an "Expert" with that type of response and ignorance? Wait... your name is "Excon"... I should have known.

    Hello again, Am:

Yes, I can, and I did. I'm right too. I meant no offense, however. It's actually a compliment.

    Hello again, Am:

Are you sure you want to hear it?? I really kind of told you already, and I'm not a psychologist. I'm just a guy who's had some experiences with the opposite sex.

What I said, and believe, is that women are much more complicated than men. I can tell you're a woman by your picture. It's no more complicated than that.

Of course, you're question DOES call for us to offer an opinion, since I don't think there's really any definitive answer.

If you don't think me too complicated, I'll take your further responses to me as an apology for insulting me. Actually, that's a pretty simple bit of reasoning.

I don't see this as a complicated person as much as someone may put this in the high maintence, snob, category. I am NOT saying you are that, but some may classify you as that if you have a taste for the finer things. It's not a knock, just means you have respect for yourself and self worth

Ok but the nice things aside... as someone tried to break it down to me. What makes a complicated person in terms of relationships?

To me, a complicated person is relationships would be someone who doesn't want to compromise, it's their way of the highway, doesn't like to communicate about issues and would rather let them fester inside until they blow up. They like confrontation in the form of an argument and handles everything as if it was an attack on them

Thank you... that is all I needed. I am glad to know that certainly does not apply to me.

Takes courage to ask questions as this, and having read your other posts, all of them in fact, and I don't think your all that complicated, but you do complicate things, with your choices. Most young people, do I think.

Yeah... I think you are right Talaniman. I don't want things to be complicated, but I always feel like with the person I was dealing with they like taking me on a merry-go-round.

I'm complicated and my BF is simple.

For us this means, I usually over think things and sometimes close up too easily when communicating. He'll say "what's wrong" and I say "nothing".. then stew before I say it. To him he says why complicate it, just say it so we talk. We always work it out but he knows me and I am working on that.

He's simple. He is very open, up front, blunt and low maintenance.

Complicated is not a bad thing, it just happens to some of us, the important thing is finding someone who understands and can work with it.

It doesn't always mean being snobby, mean, nasty, or demanding. Sometimes it really just means you may make things harder for yourself in relationships then they need to be. Something I am always guilty of lol, but now I see it and try to be better with it.

Ok, this is what I am talking about epiphany. Thank you. I think what you are saying makes perfect sense. Unfortunately for me, he has no interest in my personality period. Do you think you are a needy person? ( just asking out of curiosity. Not because of what you said).

I read your original post, then I read the answers, and I still have the same thing to say.

I don't think it is a question of what type of restaurants/hotels you like that makes a person complicated. I've eaten at 5 star restaurants in London, dined in a castle, actually, and also eaten a scorpion on a stick in a back alley-way of WanFuJing in Beijing while living there for two years. That doesn't make me complicated, it makes me appreciate the entire scope of life.

I think what makes a person complicated in a relationship is just as RomeFalls said, if you're unwilling to compromise and hear the other person's opinion, simply only out for your own benefit. Conniving and playing games also makes a relationship complicated.

If these are the things that you are NOT doing, then no, I'd say that you're NOT complicated, but that you are simply being a woman.

I do admit, sometimes, us women are hard to understand... but when a man simply gives up because "you're a woman and I'll never understand you. THerefore, you are complicated" THAT man is honestly never going to "get" women.

Really analyze if you do these things... it could be harmless "if I do this, he'll do that" type of thing.

And never think that liking nice things makes you complicated. It just shows that you have good taste. BUT, don't snub your nose at the little daisies that life throws at your feet... because it's the daisies that really make life worth living... not the random birds-of-paradise. We live in the daisies, birds of paradise are the extra special treats. :)

That analogy made sense in my head... :D

No I don't think I am needy. My boyfriend and I always give each other plenty of space to be who we are without each other so we are better with each other.

Needy people need constant attention and reassurance from their partners. Needy is completely different from complicated BUT if you are needy that can make a relationship ever more complicated (if that makes sense).
