I wouldn't look too far into it. He probably just didn't know what to do with it. He obviously doesn't wear it or you would have noticed this earlier. I really wouldn't put too much thought into this.

Both of you are adjusting... take it one day at a time. It's a big step for you both. Just relax and let everything work itself out.
