When people say "she wasn't the one" I think they mean: The one for now.

There are millions of people in the world- what makes you think you only have a great connection with one? Now that is unrealistic and quite juvenile to think so.

It's not the "one" you need to worry about, it's the mutual principles/morals you share with someone, having common interests, and all of what consists on having a healthy relationship that make things work.

It didn't work out because "it was destiny"- it works out because you make it work.

So no. There is no "one" in my opinion.

    Sarah

Had to spread the rep Sarah, but great answer. Lol that's usually what I say; there are over 6 billions people in the world... how could you possibly only fit with one of them.

I don't believe in the one either... in Norway we call it: 'den rette' which means the right one. But with the same concept as 'the one'. When people ask me if I've met; 'den rette', I always kind of laugh at it (lol not that I'm trying to be insolent towards anyone ;)) But I just can't find truth for me in that.

I do like what redhead said about you being the one for you.

I have to agree with Rome for sure. I think who you are with at this time is the one.

So I'm all alone in believing in fate and destiny and forever?

No, I don't think you're alone in that at all. A lot of people in love have that feeling of "fate and destiny" and end up married "forever".

I do believe that things happen for a reason. You can call that fate, I guess.

I just believe that the world is a huge place and I'm only a spec in a small part of it. How is it that "the one" for me is in the same small part of the world that I'm in so I can meet him and achieve my destiny? Make sense? Probably not... I'm tired.

(sorry about the comment, I accidentally hit the enter button :/ )

What I was saying was that maybe I'm just a bit cynical. But most of the time, the big things in life have seemed to be too much of a coincident to be a coincident... if you know what I mean, so I do believe that something's happen for a reason.

The one, however, I just don't.
