    As a child,
    .. when we are hungry - we expect someone to feed us.
    .. when we are bored - we expect someone to bring a toy and play.
    .. when we are tired - we expect someone put us to bed.
    .. when we are sad - we expect someone to hold us and comfort us.
    In other words, when we are a child, others are responsible for us.

    But, then comes the time when we have to grow up and take responsibility for ourselves. So..
    .. when hungry - feed yourself.
    .. when bored - find something to play with and make your own choice in picking what to play with.
    .. when tired - get into your self-made bed. If you don't like the bed, change the linnen, if you don't like the room, change the décor.
    .. when sad - do something that changes your mood by occupying yourself with things enjoyable to you that you discovered while growing up.

    In other words, now that you are an adult, you are responsible for yourself. If you don't know how to deal with yourself, you need to learn because in the end - you have to live with yourself, so take that responsibility serious.

    When people don't learn how to be comfortable with who they are and always need someone to distract them from who they are because they don't like themselves enough to be comfortable when alone, it's an unhealthy attempt to drop this responsibility on others. That's not fair to the other individual or you.

    Don't worry dear, we are here to listen and help when we can, even if we do get a little tough sometimes. Talking with others can help a lot and I know you are working on your problem. Just remember that nothing happens over-night and be kind to yourself.
