    Title Company errors at closing.
My friend sold her home in 10/05. The title company is now saying 12/07, that they made an error and she owes $2,337 for delinquent 2004 Real Property Taxes and delinquent Irrigation taxes that were mistakenly paid by the buyer through the closing. They are insisting she pay them back to avoid collections. Isn't this error covered by their insurance? She does not have the income to pay for this error they made 2 years ago. And they are the ones that errored in the closing documents. Title insurance should have covered this, right? What can she do?

The title company should have what is called "E & O" (Errors and Ommissions) Insurance which should take care of it I think perhaps, but not certain.
