Craftsman lt3000 17.5 BS won't start
I hit some brush and the engine stalled and died. I can't push it because the rear wheels stay locked, even when I disengage the trans in the back.
I discovered the brush pulled loose two ignition wires (white and black) from the choke/fuel intake area of the engine. I replaced the connector, but could easily have it backwards. I tried it both ways.
To make matters worse, my uncle suggested I clean the ignition contacts. When I did that, the assembly popped open and I have no idea if I have the copper plate on the spring in the right place.
I suspect the wheel issue is somehow related to the non-starting - like when the mower is engaged, it won't start... but now I have too many variables and need some advice.
edit: when I turn the mower blade by hand it turns the engine, and it I feel strong resistance at two points in the revolution. Also, I can hear a hissing sound. That doesn't strike me as particularly good.
When I say won't start, I mean, won't turn over at all, no clicking, no nothing. All was well before, except the battery is somewhat old and in need of charging, but still works.
It could be any number of things, spark plug, safety switches (which I am about to check now) etc. I have checked some other posts on this topic and got some good suggestions, but nothing exactly like my situation. I sure would appreciate some insight.
