    Hampton Bay fan/light not working!
Hi, I tried searching on this board for answers and couldn't find one. We have a hampton bay ceiling fan/light with pull chains and remote. The item code is: 52-RDT The way it's set up is we have 2 switches on the wall that turn on ceiling lights and the other is used to turn the ceiling fan on. The ceiling lights turn on but when the switch for the ceiling fan is turned on, it does nothing. The red light on the remote turns on, so battery is not the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Would verify switches on, and check pull switch settings. Make sure direction switch is not in the middle.

Hi Stratmando, switch is on, checked pull switch settings. Also, direction switch is not in middle. Still not working.

Since it has pullchains, remove the remote receiver and wire the fan without it. See what works then.

Where would the remote receiver be? Is there a way to fix it so that we can use the remote? I would just use the pull chain but it's too high and would need a stool every time I needed it on.

Long pullchain or string can solve reach problem. The Receiver is usually 1 of 2 places.
1 under canopy at ceiling. Or were switches are.
Like ceilingfan says, remove receiver to check fan operation. If Fan works, Replace receiver, to restore remote opeation.

Is the canopy the big round part that has the hampton bay sign on it? (Sorry this is all new to me)

The Canopy is at ceiling, Ther're is a small plastic ring at ceiling, that needs to be turned
Slightly and pulled down, exposing screws.
I would check pull chain compartment first(easier).
It is a little trouble to remove light kit and couple of blades, blades are easy to bend out of shape. But may be worth it to keep fan from getting out of balance.

Yes the remote is in the ceiling canopy. Since this is a close mount fan, you will need to uninstall it to access.
