    Plumbing vent to roof
While trying to run a snake down the roof vent, the darn thing came completely out of the spindle and the snake fell down the vent. Now I have 14' of snake down the darn vent and can't see the free end. Is there some obvious tool I can find or rent that will allow me to fish the thing out?

This all started as step 3 of trying to get rid of a sewer smell in the shower. :o

Sorry for the trouble. Go down to your Rent All Store and rent a sink cleaning machine, (you don't need a big sewer one). Explain your problem and ask them for a retrival tip. All this is a spring auger with the tip sticking out to snag the lost cable and pull it back. Good luck and let me know how you make out. Tom
