My husband is in jail for not registering,this is his first time not what are the chances of him doing hard time?are they going to send him to the pen he has only done 2 months in the city jail and hasent yet been indighted will they just make him serve his time now
They should have never let him out in the first place, sorry. I'm not to fond of sex offenders.
No people he was 12 when he did it and I need a real answer not openions OK he's 25 now and hasent offended since plus it was a 11 year old girl OK so get over it not all sex offenders a are bad people dude.
How can you be a sex offender at 12? I'm not really sure how it works because I'm not a sex offender nor do I know any, but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't carry that into adulthood?? Maybe someone else can answer this?

Acutally when the word "sex offender" is used people picture a child molester. And then someone in this post said "how can you be a sex offender at age 12". Well let me tell you this. If 2 12 year olds have consentual sex and law enforcement gets involved, both become sex offenders. An yes it is true that juvenile records get sealed for SOME crimes. But not for sex offenses, murder, aggrivated charges, or anything they are tried as an ADULT for. Here is a list of some crimes that you can become a sex offender for
Being under 14 and having consentual sex
Being a few months older than your boyfriend/girl friend, and turning 18
Selling drugs to a minor in some states
Urinating in public in most states
Kid napping a minor
Murder of someone under 18 in some states
Having public sex consentually
Being lied to by a minor with a fake ID
My personal favorite: pissing a woman off and getting fake charges pressed!
While kidnapping, murder and selling drugs are surely very bad crimes, there is no reason for them to be classified as sex offenders. In my opinion either have a murder registry, a drug registry and a violent offender registry, or do away with the sex offender registry, OR just have a felon registry. I am a felon, I would not benefit from this, however the laws in this country about sex offenders are scary, because who is next. What group will the government decide to strip the rights of next? They already have a registry for peopple from the middle east, what about a musliim registry next?
And the ignorance about the public regarding sex offenders is appalling. What if the person moving in next door is on the registry for urinating in public. Should you really be worried about this person? I think not
OMG, someone else that sees how SCARY BIG BROTHER IS, we ALL need to wake up & stop this 'scarlet letter' attitude that helps NO ONE. Remember the movie Escape from NY, is that our goverments next move,, who will be sent to FREE US from US?Quote:

Not real sure what his chances are but I would start appealing for expungement of his conviction if that's the case. My son just turned 17 (junior in high school) and his girlfriend was 15 (sophomore in high school) and she had a "hickie" on her neck and he was arrested for sexual assault and convicted as a sex offender solely on the fact that he was 17 and she 15- and mind you- he spent time in jail and missed the last half of his junior year. However, we did get the judge to agree to offer expungement of the conviction after 2 years of probation.Quote:
