How many 4'x8' sheets of drywall do you need for the walls of a 12'x20' room, 8 feet high?
im getting 24 sheets
math: sheetrock 32square ft per board
just mutilply the 12 x 20 = 240 divided by 32 = 7.5
12 x 12 = 144 divided by 32 = 4.5
add both sides twice
Thanks glavineQuote:

You have 8FT ceilings and 8FT sheets. Take the linear length of the walls, add them up, and divide by 4... 12+12+20+20= 64 / 4 = 16 sheets. You'll have some left over when you cut holes for your windows and doors.
16sheets Of Sheetrock, Lol
I Didn't Copy His Answer He Just Had A Head Start.

Get 12 Foot Rock Not 8 And Lay It Horizontal For Better Seams At Ceiling Unless You Plan On Some Cove Moulding
